Professional profile
The Advanced Technician in digital automation works in the digital management of automated industrial plants. S/he installs and tests advanced automation plants. S/he develops the integration of end-of-line production systems by means of applications and digital instruments for the acquisition, control and supervision of production data flows. S/he combines skills in automation, PLC and IT programming to operate on individual plants and integrate automated lines within flexible and reconfigurable production-logistics chains. S/he can work to meet the customer’s customization needs.

Job positions
The Advanced Technician in digital automation works in data acquisition, supervision and digital control of automated and robot systems, IT and PLC programming for automation plants, installation, configuration and testing of customized lines and automation systems, in the company and at the customer’s site.

Teamwork module
The program includes transversal skills modules concerning teamwork, organizational communication in the company, and the basics of leadership. These skills are fundamental to communicate and implement expertise in organizations.

Lab teaching
LEARNING BY DOING
The program includes theoretical lessons in the classroom and practical in the company, as well as labs, project working, business simulation, meetings with entrepreneurs and visits in the companies.
REFRESHER COURSES
The program is introduced by induction refresher courses in Mechanics, Electrotechnology/Electronics and English, which are based on the assessment level of admitted participants.
INTERNSHIPS
More than 40% of post-diploma course time is devoted to educational internships in the most important companies of the mechanic, mechatronic, motor and automation sectors in Emilia-Romagna.
Covid and teaching
ITS MAKER promptly adopted not only all necessary procedures for distance teaching, but also new solutions for lab practice, while also providing technical support for students who may be having difficulties with online classes.
